Super 55
Presented in a chrome casing with blue foam, the Shure Super 55 is a supercardioid dynamic microphone boasting a classic look and vocal-tailored sound for recording sessions, live stage applications, podcasting, and on-camera use. The dynamic cartridge is shock-mounted to impede handling noise and vibrations transferred through your mic stand. The implementation of a supercardioid polar pattern minimizes pickup of off-axis noise and ambience, yielding higher gain before feedback and attenuated stage bleed.
The mic delivers a frequency response of 60 Hz to 17 kHz with a gentle presence boost peaking at approximately 6 kHz. Its XLR 3-pin output ensures compatibility with most mixer inputs, microphone preamps, and portable PA systems. The attached, self-tensioning swivel mount can be tilted up to 45 degrees forward and 80 degrees backward. Chrome-plated, die-cast construction provides tour-worthy durability. It ships with a zippered bag for safe storage.
Classic Appearance
In addition to being a mic with solid audio characteristics for the studio and stage, the Super 55 makes a great prop microphone in video shoots, photos, and theater applications
Tailored Frequency Response
The 60 Hz to 17 kHz frequency response features a slight dip in the low-mid frequency range and a gentle rise above 1 kHz, making its sonic performance optimal for vocals, public address, and dialog
Supercardioid Polar Pattern
The supercardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing sound pickup at the off-axis sections of the capsule, ensuring high gain before feedback
Shock-Mounted Cartridge
The dynamic capsule is shock-mounted for added protection against shock- and structure-born noise
Pros
Stylish, ponto, all your girls, you can remove a beautiful clip and that’s all.
Minuses
The frequency range is strongly cut, which is why it sounds like from a barrel, despite the fact that it is supposedly supercardiode, it is quite confidently accepting the signal from the front side of the microphone (albeit a little muffled), respectively, even from the Holy Spirit.
Review
It was used mainly in a fairly large, soundproof room (a couple of times used in small rooms without sound insulation) with analog (less often with non -violent digital) mixer. I put 4 stars for the fact that it is stylish and beautiful. It is almost impossible to use it without a large number of filters. It is impossible to use it without compression and equalization at all. In general, you can make a pleasant sound out of it, but in fact the entire price is exhibited for a completely chrome case (well, the truth looks cool). The sound of this money is not worth it. In my opinion, AKG P5I and that sounds better.Translated from pult.ruOriginal reviews
