Shure MOTIV MV88 Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone for iOS
People who need a professional sound out of an iOS-compatible clip-on mic will delight in the Shure MOTIV MV88, a convenient microphone that lets you record anything from in-field interviews to stereo musical performances with high-quality audio. The microphone simply clips into the lightning port of your device, mounting there as well.
Once affixed, the mic can be positioned in a variety of ways to get the kind of professional audio capture you desire. The companion Shure App lets you select among five DSP presets: choose between two different mono modes for different purposes, or capture everything in naturalistic stereo. The mic is plug-and-play, powering directly from your iOS device. A windscreen is included for filming in windy locales.
A Simple Multi-Purpose Solution
Shure made this mic to handle a variety of tasks in mobile settings. You can adjust the 90° hinge to point the mic where you want, and even switch the left-right orientation of the capsule. This makes the mic useful for selfie-social videos, mobile interviews, two-way interviews, and capturing performances in stereo.
High-Quality Audio
The mic captures audio in high-quality 48 kHz/24-bit, making it suitable for use with professional editing applications. You can choose one of two mono modes: Cardioid will focus the capture on what's directly in front of the mic, like a shotgun microphone. Bidirectional will provide even capture on either side of the mic, making it great for two-way interviews in a mono format. Finally, you can choose to use both the cardioid and bidirectional capsules together; since they're configured in an M/S orientation, they'll give you a naturalistic stereo response.
Handy Companion Software
The ShurePlus MOTIV audio app gives you the ability to record studio-quality audio—and so much more. Choose among the five DSP presets. Modify the gain and EQ. Trim and share your clips in multiple formats. Do it all with a few quick taps. Recording video? Use the MOTIV Video App. The mic works with both.
