Pro-Ject Cork & Rubber It 1 mm, High-Quality Plate Mat
High quality cork & rubber record mat prevents electrostatic charging of the plates. Reduces unwanted playing noise. Fits on every turntable. Available in two different thicknesses: 3 mm and 1 mm. The acoustic decoupling of the sensitive parts of the turntable is the key to a great vinyl sound. It is extremely important that turntables and the actual record are decoupled. High quality pickups work extremely sensitive, allowing you to easily record interactions between the record and the turntable. Common felt mats allow gentle contact between plate and plate, but have problems with electrostatic charging. This can lead to large accumulation of dust on the mat and vinyl. The damping effect is also limited, which can be problematic especially with metal turntables. Thick rubber mats usually dampen too much here and also prevent the dissipation of electrostatic charges from the plate, which leads to audible more crackling and cracking. As the name suggests, Cork & Rubber it consists of a well thought-out mix of cork and rubber. This combines the exceptionally good cushioning properties of rubber with the electrostatic benefits of cork. Cork & Rubber it is available in both 1 mm and 3 mm thickness and fits on any turntable. With the two different options, Cork & Rubber it can be perfectly matched to your turntable as well as your tonal preferences. Our recommendation: choose the thick mat (3 mm) for light and thin metal plates or the thin mat (1 mm) for heavy and solid turntables.

About brand
Pro-Ject
Pro-Ject was founded in 1991, during the onslaught of the compact disc and CD players, with the mission to offer the best analogue experience for reasonable prices. In a time where the digital audio media had been on the rise, and vinyl was declared as outdated and dead, Heinz Lichtenegger kept his belief in the simple but best way to enjoy music – turntables.
