MMF 11.3
The Music Hall MMF-11.3 Turntable's motors, flywheel, and speed control are further isolated on their own vibration damped dual-plinth platform which is isolated from the upper three main plinths. Sorbothane hemispheres separate each of the three main plinths and provide additional vibration damping. The bottom plinth operates as a mass-loaded resonant sink for the entire turntable. Two motors and a flywheel are used to increase torque and speed stability. The Music Hall MMF-11.3 Turntable comes in a high-gloss piano black lacquer finish and ships without cartridge. A large encapsulating acrylic dust cover is included.
Pros
Appearance (looks very beautiful and monumental), quality of performance and materials, vibration disagreement, sound.
Minuses
A whole tonearm, there is no complete head of the pickup.
Review
I switched to this player with Audio Technica AT-VP140. The difference is significant. Impressions of the sea. Firstly, he is beautiful. Mine is in the color of Walnut, it looks expensive, solid. A rather large and heavy device. If you do not know the price tag, you might think that it is far beyond 500t or even a million. A pleasant color of the veneer, a massive support disk, a good bearing with the lowest rolling resistance. The cap cover, closes the device completely so that dust does not accumulate on the player. And finally the sound. He is impressive. Again, I start from my previous apparatus and compare with it. The head is the same, threw his AT VM750SH, so the comparison is objective. Details, deep bass, bright top (a feature of the head) were added. But what is the charm, with Music Hall MMF-11.3 there is still where to grow, for him this is the head, one might say, the initial level. You can note the excellent carbon tonarm Pro-ject 9CC evolution with all the necessary settings. When he installed and tuned his head, he appreciated.
The disadvantages include a non -removable header. But this matters if there are several heads of the booster to listen to different musical styles or old vintage, and there is a need to periodically change one head to the other. And the second point - the player does not have a complete head. This is a minus for those who want to buy a completely finished device, get out of the box and listen immediately. On the other hand, a player of this level allows you to put high -class heads on it, so the manufacturer left the right to choose to customers, which is right. And the presence of a top head in the kit would significantly increase the price tag.
Bottom line: a chic apparatus with an amazing sound, at a very interesting price and a large range for a further upgrade.
