Magnat Dolby Atmos Speakers ATM 202 white (pair)

Surround formats that contain additional height information, such as Dolby Atmos, have taken the home cinema world by storm. The additional audio information lifts the acoustic proceedings to a new level in the truest sense of the word. Switching to the corresponding electronics is quick and easy, however, the corresponding height channels need to be added first on the speaker side.

Not everyone can, or wants to, install separate speakers in the ceiling above the ears of the listener. Speakers that reproduce the height signal via reflections from the ceiling therefore present the best solution in most cases. These are also referred to as "upward-firing" speakers. But do you have to buy all new speakers? Not at all. Additional speakers such as the ATM 202, which are simply placed on top of existing front channels, allow you to set up a corresponding system in no time.

NOT JUST DOLBY ATMOS

In addition to Dolby Atmos, there are also other home cinema formats that contain surround information from above. These include, for example, the DTS:X and Auro3D standards. Besides the familiar information for the front and surround speakers, all of these variants also provide separate height information that can be reproduced with our speakers. Of course, the electronic components that are used must support this function and the amplifier or receiver must be equipped with the corresponding outputs.

THE MAGNAT ATM 202 IS COMPATIBLE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF MAGNAT SPEAKERS

When coordinating the Magnat series, our speaker developers have always pursued the approach of achieving sound reproduction that is as authentic as possible. As a result, different series are similar in terms of acoustics and can be combined with one another. This, of course, also applies to the ATM 202: We have developed its tonality in such a way that it can be combined with a wide variety of series.

For example, it works harmoniously with the floorstanding speakers in the Signature 500, 700 and 900 series, as well as with the speakers from the Quantum and Tempus series. The two finishes that are available, namely a black or white piano lacquer, also ensure a compatible variant for any interior setup.

HOW TO SET UP THE MAGNAT ATM 202 CORRECTLY

The ATM should ideally be positioned on top of the respective speaker. In the case of freely positioned floorstanding speakers, this results in a perfect reflection to the listener via the ceiling. In principle, the ATM 202 can also be used with shelf speakers. In such a setup, however, care must be taken to ensure that they are able to radiate freely upwards, i.e. they are not obstructed by a shelf. If this is the case, however, the ATM 202 can also be positioned separately from the actual speakers.

We have provided wall mounting fixtures at the rear of the units especially for separate installations. These enable the additional Dolby Atmos speakers to be mounted on a wall where their playback is uninterrupted. They can either be positioned to reflect their sound via the ceiling or the ATM 202 units can be positioned high up on a wall, where they are able to radiate downwards. Thanks to their flexible installation options, a variant can be implemented in almost every scenario to conjure up surround sound with height information in your living room or home cinema setup.

THE BEST COMPONENTS WITH THE BEST WORKMANSHIP

It goes without saying that all of the components used meet our high standards. The solid console-shaped housing features a high-gloss lacquered baffle and a fabric cover that is invisibly attached via magnets, which means it can be easily removed. The rubber feet on the housing prevent the formation of disruptive resonance when installing the units on existing speakers or on a wall mount. This guarantees the best sound.
