M-Audio AIR 192|6 Desktop 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface

Designed for musicians, producers, and songwriters questing for studio-quality recordings and fresh sounds, the M-Audio AIR 192|6 desktop 2x2 USB Type-C audio interface provides two channels of transparent preamps and converters, easy operability, MIDI I/O, and an expansive software bundle of DAWs, virtual instruments, plug-ins, and loops.

With its two XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs and dedicated front-panel 1/4" Hi-Z instrument inputs, the AIR 192|6 can simultaneously accommodate two mics (dynamic/condenser), two electric guitars, or one of each while offering separate meters and gain controls for both inputs. Since the interface has two 1/4" TRS monitor outputs and a 1/4" headphone output with its own level control, you can connect active speakers and a set of headphones and adjust their volumes independently. The built-in monitor mixer lets you dial in the optimal blend of zero-latency live input signal and low-latency computer playback, so you can smoothly transition from tracking to overdubbing to mixing.

Studio-Quality Recording for Musicians and Producers
With the AIR 192|6, you can create 24-bit / 192 kHz studio-quality recordings with an intuitive and easy-to-use audio interface. The AIR 192|6 enables you to record up to two channels at once with its two dedicated XLR-1/4" balanced combo mic/line inputs (+48V phantom power is switchable), and two front-panel 1/4" instrument inputs that have a specially designed gain and impedance stage to provide the most accurate representation of a guitar or bass plugged directly into the interface.

Crystal Preamps and High-Resolution Converters
M-Audio's engineers designed their Crystal preamps to provide you with a transparent low-noise preamp that guarantees the best sound from your microphones and captures your performance exactly the way you intended. The AIR 192|6 incorporates pristine A/D converters for 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution digital audio with a dynamic range that lets you capture every nuance and subtlety of the performance.

MIDI I/O
5-pin MIDI in and out connections are included on the 192|6 for connecting synths, sequencers, and other external MIDI gear, making the interface well suited for integrating MIDI gear with your DAW's virtual instruments and composition functions.

Listen without Latency
When recording, you want to focus on capturing that perfect moment, and getting the best performance out of your artist and talent. You don't want to be bogged down by clicks, pops, or latency. The AIR 192|6 not only features a high-speed USB connection for providing low round-trip latency (2.59 ms) between your machine and your hardware, but it also features monitor mix control for listening directly to the source inputs, providing you with zero-latency technology. The AIR 192|6 sports stereo 1/4" monitor outputs and a 1/4" headphone output, each with its own level control.

Bus Powered
The AIR 192|6 is bus powered, so you don't have to carry around an external power supply. Connect it to your Mac or Windows computer via the supplied USB cables (one USB Type-C and one USB Type-C to Type-A). The interface is class-compliant for Macs and utilizes a downloadable driver for Windows.

Premium Software Suite
The AIR 192|6 comes complete with an expansive software package—two DAWs, 40 effect plug-ins, virtual instruments, and loops—to kickstart your musical creations.

There may be problems with the ASIO driver

Review

Before buying, I looked at a lot of reviews on various interfaces, and having weighed all the software and all against it stopped on this option. I write at home through a stationary computer, outside the house through the laptop. And if on the computer everything got up immediately and good, then on the laptop I had to tinker ... The problem with the driver. I’ll say right away, there and there and there Win10 x64, identical software - Daw Reaper. The only difference was that at the PC I first installed the driver from the office of the site, and only then connected the card. But on the laptop, I did the opposite ... For some reason, he first stuck the card, and only then climbed to pump firewood. What happened in the end - there is a card, the system sees it, if you put the device by default - the sound goes. But in Reaper, when choosing an asio map, there are empty windows to choose from in and out channels. + Error Initializing Asio Driver. The driver reinstalled, the software updated - invariably. I put another DAW - a similar problem. Through Asio4all, the card is connected, not through the native Asio. Search on the Internet led me in a couple of places to describe this problem, but I never found solutions, like those people actually. T.K. There is always a set of software with me, I threw off Windows in an hour and rolled everything in a new one - now it works. I don’t know if there is a dependence of this problem on a series of connections or a card do not like something in a specific Windows assembly, but the fact remains - the card can blow up the brain. Yes, I do not exclude that I am crookedly and did not do something wrong, but everything always worked, but here on. If possible, I will leave a link to the description of the problem with other musicians, maybe decisions and sensible answers will appear in these branches. https://www.reddit.com/r/reaker/comments/py5pjk/error_initializing_asio_driver/ https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?s=417E3B08DE6AAF67C9819DF854&P=2486842
