AIR 192|14
Designed for musicians, producers, and small bands questing for studio-quality recordings and fresh sounds, the M-Audio AIR 192|14 desktop 8x4 USB Type-C audio interface provides four channels of transparent preamps, four additional analog inputs, easy operability, MIDI I/O, and an expansive software bundle of DAWs, virtual instruments, plug-ins, and loops.
Its eight analog inputs—four XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs, two fixed-level line inputs, and two dedicated front-panel 1/4" Hi-Z instrument inputs—allow the AIR 192|14 to simultaneously accommodate four mics (dynamic/condenser), two electric guitars, and two line-level sources while offering separate 4-segment meters and gain controls for the first six inputs. Since the interface has 1/4" TRS monitor outputs, two fixed-level 1/4" outputs, and two independent 1/4" headphone outputs with their own level controls and source selectors, you can connect active speakers, two sets of headphones, and an external headphone amplifier. The built-in monitor mixer lets you listen in mono or stereo and dial in the optimal blend of zero-latency live input signal and low-latency computer playback, so you can smoothly transition from tracking to overdubbing to mixing.
Studio-Quality Recording for Musicians and Small Bands
With the AIR 192|14, you can create 24-bit / 192 kHz studio-quality recordings with an intuitive and easy-to-use audio interface. The AIR 192|14 enables you to record up to eight channels at once with its four dedicated XLR-1/4" balanced combo mic/line inputs (+48V phantom power is switchable for inputs 1-2 and 3-4), two fixed-level 1/4" line inputs, and two front-panel 1/4" instrument inputs that have a specially designed gain and impedance stage to provide accurate representation of a guitar or bass plugged directly into the interface.
Crystal Preamps and High-Resolution Converters
M-Audio's engineers designed their Crystal preamps to provide you with a transparent low-noise preamp that guarantees the best sound from your microphones and captures your performance exactly the way you intended. The AIR 192|14 incorporates pristine A/D converters for 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution digital audio with a dynamic range that lets you capture every nuance and subtlety of the performance.
MIDI I/O
Space-saving 3.5mm MIDI I/O ports and the included 3.5mm to 5-pin MIDI adapters enable you to connect synths, sequencers, and other external MIDI gear, making the interface well suited for integrating MIDI gear with your DAW's virtual instruments and composition functions.
Listen without Latency
When recording, you want to focus on capturing that perfect moment, and getting the best performance out of your artist and talent. You don't want to be bogged down by clicks, pops, or latency. The AIR 192|14 not only features a high-speed USB connection for providing low round-trip latency (2.59 ms) between your machine and your hardware, but it also features monitor mix control for listening directly to the source inputs in mono or stereo, providing you with zero-latency technology.
Dual Headphone Outputs and Line Outs
The AIR 192|14 sports stereo 1/4" main outputs, stereo fixed-level 1/4" line outputs, two independent 1/4" headphone outputs, and separate level controls for the main and headphone outputs. Each headphone out also has a switch to source it from output channels 1-2 or 3-4, ideal for setting up different headphone mixes for multiple artists.
External Power Supply
The AIR 192|14 includes an external power supply and two USB cables (one USB Type-C and one USB Type-C to Type-A) to ensure proper operation with your Mac or Windows computer. The interface is class-compliant for Macs and utilizes a downloadable driver for Windows.
Premium Software Suite
The AIR 192|14 comes complete with an expansive software package—two DAWs, 40 effect plug-ins, virtual instruments, and loops—to kickstart your musical creations.

Review
When testing with this card, I had a double impression. On the one hand, Air 192 is done for professional work. But the lack of digital inputs/outputs, not to mention Adat, completely disappointed me. Budget card, for beginners? But here the price ... add a little and buy a professional fee, with all the ensuing, in the form of SPDIF or TOSLINK, MIDI, ANALOG in/out. I liked the preamples. With a good microphone, it’s enough, an excellent recording result. The guitar also signed up well. The volume pen is perhaps the most pleasant. Easy move, rubberized rim. Beauty. But ... in the end, I don’t understand why such a device was conceived. It will not work for DJ work. For professional studio too. For beginners, too much a set of unnecessary inputs/outputs and price. So choose you. For me, look towards Audient or Pressonus in the same price category.
