December has come, which means it's time to sum up the results of the year. We have selected the most interesting speakers 2022-2023, which will delight listeners with stylish design and excellent sound quality.

System Audio SA Saxo 40

If you love powerful, large-scale sound and you strive to find compact floor speakers with a concise design, SA Saxo 40 from the Danish company System Audio is exactly what you need. An interesting combination of qualities was achieved thanks to a pair of high-tech 140-mm woofers, which are capable of feats even in a body of relatively small volume. The picture is complemented by a proprietary dome tweeter, working in tandem with a patented acoustic lens. As a result, the sa Saxo 40 frequency ranges from 40 Hz to 25 kHz, and they confidently fill even a fairly large living room with clear and detailed sound. The main thing is to choose a good amplifier with a capacity of at least 50 watts per channel. By the way, these speakers are interesting to listen to both with one hundred percent concentration of attention, and putting pleasant background music.

KEF Q350

It seems that the designers made the cases of the KEF Q350 speakers extremely minimalistic on purpose: this is a classic rectangle decorated with a small but clearly visible logo. This solution allows you to focus on the main highlight - the Uni-Q coaxial driver. It consists of a 165 mm (6.5") woofer with an aluminum cone, as well as a 25 mm tweeter with an aluminum dome. By the way, the dimensions of these speakers are already noticeably larger than those of the basic Q150, and their sound is more thorough and large-scale. The bass reflex is located on the back side of the case and can be easily "deactivated" using the included foam plugs. Thus, the Q350 can be placed much closer to the wall, but only if you are ready to sacrifice the depth of the bass a bit.

Triangle Elara LN01A

Active wireless speakers LN01A from the French company Triangle is a high quality sound and a minimum of troubles with the connection of audio components. In other words, there is no longer a need to choose between the advantages of blocky Hi-Fi equipment and ease of use. Compact shelf speakers are equipped with a built-in amplifier with a power of 2x50 W, allow you to adjust the level of low and high frequencies and speakers are equipped with a remote control. In addition, the LN01A has Bluetooth with aptX support, a phono corrector for connecting a vinyl player, optical, coaxial and linear RCA inputs, as well as an output to a subwoofer. In the role of sound drivers - 25-mm tweeters with a fabric dome, also 13-centimeter mid-bass speakers. The result is a frequency range from 56 Hz to 22 kHz and the merged, detailed sound characteristic of triangle brand products.

Monitor Audio Silver 100 (7G)

At the very first glance at the Silver 100 speakers, it becomes obvious that we have Monitor Audio acoustics in front of us - largely due to the silver domes which give us a note that speaker it’s brand's products. Unexpectedly large for shelfers, the 8-inch woofer works in a friendly tandem with a dome tweeter loaded on a waveguide, which is equipped with a diaphragm made of magnesium and aluminum alloy and is covered with a stylish protective mesh with an unusual hexagonal pattern. Attention is also attracted by stylish cases, made with the same care as premium home furniture: there is a pleasant finish, and neat assembly, and appropriate design accents.

Klipsch The Fives

Klipsch definitely knows a lot about the production of loudspeakers that not only give aesthetic pleasure, but also know how to be professionals. A typical example is the active shelf members of The Fives. To our attention - a design in a recognizable vintage style and two options for finishing with natural veneer, also 4.5" woofers and 1" tweeters with branded Tractrix horns. The volume control and the input selector located on top also look interesting. By the way, you can connect the sources through a minijack or RCA connectors, as well as through optical and USB interfaces. On the spot and a built-in phono corrector for a vinyl player, but a nice bonus is a built-in Bluetooth receiver for listening to music from mobile gadgets. By the way, the package includes all the necessary cables, as well as a remote control.

Magnat Transpuls 1500

In the wake of the growing interest in vintage design, Magnat introduced the Transpuls 1500 - floor speakers with a powerful and assertive sound that will definitely please fans of rock and other dynamic musical styles. The developers managed to achieve an impressive scale of audio playback - thanks to the use of a large 15" woofer with a paper diffuser, as well as a 170-mm mid-frequency driver and a double dome tweeter loaded on a waveguide. As a result, the speakers play in the range from 16 Hz to 32,000 Hz, and the sensitivity reaches 95 dB. Thus, with Transpuls 1500, even well-known tracks will play with new colors.

Wharfedale EVO 4.2

The company Wharfedale, not without reason, is associated with a real classic of Hi-Fi, because the English manufacturer traces its history back to 1932. In the current line of the brand there are extremely interesting columns EVO 4.2, which are worth paying attention to for several reasons. Firstly, these are three-lane shelves, which in itself is quite a rare phenomenon. Secondly, the developers used a dome mid-frequency driver, and this can be called a solution even more exotic. Meanwhile, a 6.5-inch woofer with a braided diffuser is responsible for bass reproduction, and hale's emitter, responsible for high frequencies, complements the picture. Add to this an interesting design and three finishes for every taste - and we get excellent speakers at a more than reasonable price.

Heco Aurora 700

Despite the fact that the Aurora series is not the most budget in the Heco lineup, it is in strong demand and successfully combines modern technologies with an attractive price. The appearance of the Aurora 700 was definitely successful: laconic lines and appropriate accents, matte texture on the front and top panels, also a pleasant finish "under the tree" on the sides. The speakers are equipped with proprietary paper 170-mm woofers, and tweeters with a 28-mm silk dome and wide dispersion. As a result, the frequency range extends from 25 Hz to 42.5 kHz, the sensitivity reaches 92 dB, and the sound is characterized by the balance and detail characteristic of Heco products.

Focal Chora 816

The company Focal was founded in 1979 and over the past decades has managed to take a leading position in the production of speakers and sound systems, including stylish floor speakers Chora 816. French designers have created an attractive and sophisticated appearance, and also offered three cute finishes for any interior. In terms of technical details, the Slatefiber composit diffuser woofers are made using carbon fiber and form the crucial basis of the Chora 816's driven and dynamic sound. Meanwhile, tweeters with an aluminum-magnesium diaphragm reproduce air and detailed high frequencies, and the front bass reflex port with precisely calculated geometry guarantees the presence of deep and articulated bass, allowing you to place the speakers close to the wall.

Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition

The Bowers & Wilkins brand has become synonymous with premium quality and first-class sound, but the prices for its products, as a rule, are not the most affordable. And the most interesting fact that in the branded line of B & W there is a shelf acoustics 607 S2, embodying long-standing traditions and offering a real British sound for reasonable money. It was possible to combine the compact dimensions of the shelf speakers and the power of real Hi-Fi thanks to 5" woofers with advanced Continuum diffusers (similar ones are used in the flagship model 800 Diamond), as well as tweeters with an aluminum dome and a vibration isolation system. It is worth noting the laconic design with eye-catching accents, as well as the presence of two stylish finishing options for any home interior.

DALI Oberon 5

It's no secret that audiophiles and music lovers choose DALI acoustics for a unique combination of first-class engineering, thoughtful design and excellent sound at a reasonable price. And these criteria are fully met by the popular Oberon 5 floor speakers. The model is made in a fashionable Scandinavian style, is available in several trim options and will be a successful addition to the modern interior. More important that the dynamism and scale of the Oberon 5's sound, made possible by a pair of 5.25-inch woofers with wood-reinforced diffusers, as well as 29mm tweeters with a lightweight fabric dome. We offer a surround soundstage and high detail, while a sensitivity of 88 dB and a uniform impedance characteristic improves the compatibility of these speakers with amplifying equipment.

Acoustic Energy AE100²

Founded in 1987, the British company Acoustic Energy has set a new standard for the sound quality of shelf speakers – largely thanks to the popular AE1 model at the time. The current generation of compact speakers called AE100² has retained the best features of its predecessors and acquired the latest technologies. Directly responsible for sound reproduction are 130 mm midbass drivers with paper diffusers and waveguide-loaded 25 mm dome tweeters with wide dispersion. As a result, the AE100² confidently reproduces frequencies in the range from 51 Hz to 26 kHz, demonstrates a surprisingly dynamic sound for compact shelves and will be the optimal solution for stereo systems and home theater.

Mission ZX-4

Being in search of something interesting among the speakers of the middle price segment, we are now and then faced with compromises that manufacturers make in order to reduce costs. It's no surprise that the biggest brands and their products — like Mission and their premium ZX-4 flooring — are winning in the fight for shoppers' attention. Acoustic systems are made in stylish cases with non-parallel walls and glossy black or white trim. Note the updated speakers. DiaDrive midbass emitter diffusers are made like a sandwich: the inner dome connects directly to the voice coil, and the outer one, made of aluminum, further increases rigidity. But even more interesting is the so-called ring tweeter caliber 38 mm. Its diaphragm is fixed not only around the perimeter, but also in the middle. In addition, there is a fixed phase-leveling insert in the center. All these tricks are designed to reduce distortion and significantly increase the detail of reproduction. At the end we get a frequency range from 40 Hz to 24 kHz and a thoroughbred British sound for a completely reasonable money.

Martin Logan Motion 15i

Founded in 1979 in Kansas, Martin Logan has gained cult status – largely due to speakers with electrostatic drivers and an original, recognizable appearance. At the same time, in the model range of the brand there are more classic shelf speakers called Motion 15i. Their design can be described as quite neutral, but there were interesting details: an unusual shape of the case, with a beveled top panel, as well as a woofer with a "flattened" protective cap and a tweeter covered with a metal plate. By the way, we have 133-mm mid-bass drivers with origin design, with aluminum alloy diffusers, end Folded Motion tape emitters. The result is a frequency range from 60 Hz to 25 kHz, a sensitivity of 92 dB and an optimally balanced sound in conditions of a small or medium-sized listening room.
