Product - The dimpled (wave textured) agglomerated cork underlay for healthy flooring
Moisture - Agglomerated cork
General Installation Instructions - The following installation instructions are recommended by Vicoustic, but are not intended as a definitive project specification. They are presented in an attempt to be used with recommended installation procedures of the flooring manufacturers.
Environmental Conditions - Temperature>10ºC / Room moisture content<75%
Subfloor - All subfloor work should be structurally sound, clear and level.
The moisture content of the subfloor should not be more than 2.5% (CM) by weight measured on concrete subfloors.
Loose laid instalation- The ViCork C61 must be installed around all the perimeter walls with the joint butted tight together using single sided carpet tape. It should be loose laid up to the gripper or previous fitted under it. In this last case, the carpet gripper is nailed onto the perimeter strip. Fit the carpet using the gripper around the edge of the room to secure the carpet and give it a neat finish. Carpet grippers are ideal for use with ViCork C61.
Bonded Instalation - Fold back one half of the underlay and using a notched trowel apply acrylic glue to the subfloor ensuring a complete coverage. Unfold the ViCork C61 onto the area with glue and repeat this method to the other half of the underlay. Trim in the ViCork C61 tidly around the margins. Position the carpet precisely on the underlay before any adhesive is used. Unfold the carpet onto the adhesive previous applied on the ViCork C61 surface. Repeat this method for the other half.
Final Flooring - Always follow manufacturers recommended installation instructions.
Important Notes - Never mechanically fasten the ViCork C61 to the flooring floor as this will severaly diminish its acoustical value.
