The Wash-IT cleaning formula was developed exclusively by Pro-Ject Audio Systems for use with the VC-S record cleaning machine.
Wash-IT does not contain alcohol, which can harm record surfaces. Instead it contains only high-purity components, which are 100% eco-friendly, non-toxic and non-flammable. It's also designed to evaporate without leaving any residue on the record surface after drying. Wash-it cleans both vinyl records & shellacs and a 250ml bottle will clean around 337 records and brings them back to looking like new again.
Please Note:
Wash it concentrate must be diluted (recommended ratio is between 1:10 and 1:20) with demineralised or distilled water before use. Never use tap water, because minerals in tap water will leave white traces on the record surface; these will affect the sound quality by adding unwanted noise and may damage the recording.
The cleaning efficiency of Wash-IT can be significantly improved by applying a small amount of force with the cleaning brush. Even more improvement can be achieved by using a slightly warmed-up Wash-IT solution. For very dirty records you may need to repeat the cleaning process.
Wash-IT can be safely warmed in a microwave oven. When using warmed-up Wash-IT, use a dilution ratio of 1:20 and aim for a liquid temperature of around 40º C. We cannot accept liability for any accidents that may occur when experimenting with warmed Wash-IT solution.
Wash-IT should be stored away from direct sunlight, in a space ideally between 10 and 25º C.
Pro-Ject was founded in 1991, during the onslaught of the compact disc and CD players, with the mission to offer the best analogue experience for reasonable prices. In a time where the digital audio media had been on the rise, and vinyl was declared as outdated and dead, Heinz Lichtenegger kept his belief in the simple but best way to enjoy music – turntables.
