The Tube Box S2 is a premium valve phono stage for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges. The Tube Box S2 delivers a relaxed audio performance with lush mids in a full and enveloping sound stage, just like far more expensive pure-valve phono stages are capable of. Thanks to the built-in adjustable gain, capacitance, impedance and subsonic filter settings, it's possible to tune the device to perfectly complement almost any modern MM or MC cartridge. It's also possible to tune the sound further, as the Tube Box S2 is Pro-Ject's first ever product designed for the valves to be replaceable - allowing for tube rolling or sound shaping.
The new S2 casing is a big additional asset to the design, as not only does it deliver the highest visual appeal, but it is also sturdy enough to protect the internal circuitry against unwanted interferences and vibrations, which can cause unpleasant listening experiences. The Tube Box S2 also benefits from protective cages around the valves - inspired by the superiorTube Box DS2 design.
Inspired by high-end designs but available for a very appealing price, the Tube Box S2 is a real audiophile bargain.
Several levels of amplification

In my opinion, an unremarkable phonor-corrector. The influence of the lamps is not felt. The usual Pro-ject, which costs half as much, sounds exactly the same. An increase in Gain growth does not give a sound. The balance simply shifts towards low frequencies.

There was a TEAC TN-280BT-A3 vinyl player with a built-in phono-corrector, changed it to the same Reloop Turn 5 characteristics and connected the Tube Box S2. The sound became completely different on the same acoustic. And this gave me an understanding of why all this "disease" was generally :))
Now I buy a tube amplifier and a pair of Castle Knight (4).

Detail and airiness of sound.
I haven't found it yet.
The phono-corrector was bought to improve the sound of the player of AT-LP5. After long elections, I decided to take "in reserve". I think I was not mistaken. The sound has become more detailed and airy. There was some kind of softness and pneumatic and use. The capabilities of this apparatus will allow it to use it with players of a higher price segment. A wide range of settings for MS-cartridges. Great appearance and minimalism in size.

Sound quality, unusual appearance.
Overcharge.
The phonnocoretor from the current leader in the market of vinyl players and related goods. It is not worth it to seduce about the lamps, of course they are available, but ... I would call it "semi -lamp", but the sound quality is very good. If there are discounts, I recommend buying.

Pro-Ject was founded in 1991, during the onslaught of the compact disc and CD players, with the mission to offer the best analogue experience for reasonable prices. In a time where the digital audio media had been on the rise, and vinyl was declared as outdated and dead, Heinz Lichtenegger kept his belief in the simple but best way to enjoy music – turntables.
