Linn Urika Built-in MC phono stage (analogue out)
Linn Kandid MC phono cartridge is Linn's best model yet built specifically to extract as much detail as possible from the depths of vinyl record grooves.
Motor Housing
Kandid utilises an exposed motor housing to eliminate potential sources of resonance resulting in purer, more transparent sound giving you better vinyl performance.
Plastic Screw
The low weight of the cartridge is made possible by using a plastic front yoke screw rather than metal. The counterweight is moved closer to the bearing point for a quicker reaction time to changes in the vinyl while the plastic screw also eliminates any magnetic interference to the delicate coils in the cartridge.
Tracking Angle
Another significant feature is the angle of the mechanical body and the tracking angle of the cantilever which was moved from 23° to 20°. When placed under tracking force on the LP surface, the flux lines remain symmetrical ensuring that mechanical forces on the coils and iron core remain equal in all directions.
Diamond Stylus
Kandid uses the finest nude diamond micro-ridge stylus and a ceramic boron cantilever for ultra low mass and extremely high rigidity. The suspension mechanism supports hand-wound coils secured in a high-precision rigid assembly, terminated with gold contacts on flying leads for superb signal transmission. The coils feature an extra winding for increased output.
Structure
Kandid’s assembly, designed to perfectly match Linn Ekos SE tonearm, is machined from a solid 7075 aluminium alloy body for complete rigidity and includes Linn's unique triple-point mounting system to ensure more rigid and accurate coupling.
