Bowers&Wilkins Wall Speaker CWM 7.3 S2
New improved CI700s
The original CI700 series was created for people who need discreet and high-performance integrated speaker systems in their homes but without the need for a large-scale renovation project. The new CI700 series continues this with new technologies that Bowers & Wilkins have developed since the original. They have also slimmed down the range and focussed on the most popular models from the original CI700 range. The new CI700s helps to bridge the gap between the older CI700s and the more modern series such as the CI800 Series Diamond. One of the best things about these new CI700s is that if you have older ones already installed, upgrading is as simple as replacing the speaker.
Easy to install
The CI700 is designed to be both subtle and easy to install without extensive renovation works required. An issue often faced with retrofitted speakers is a lack of volume. This is usually due to a lack of space behind the speaker for air to reverberate. This is why all CI700 speakers come with either a fully integrated (CCM7.3 S2, CWM7.3 S2, CWM7.5 S2) or optional (CCM7.5 S2, CWM7.4 S2) back box. This provides better sound insulation and protection from fire. The CWM7.3 S2 and the CWM7.5 S2 also come with an additional reservoir box which can also increase volume.
New materials
Each model in the new CI700s includes Bowers and Wilkins' Carbon Dome tweeter technology, which was first seen in the 700 series loudspeakers. The Carbon Dome tweeters deliver a sweeter and cleaner high-frequency performance than the original aluminium domes in the older CI700s. This is due to the Carbon Dome's stiffness and resistance to distortion. Many of the speakers in the CI700 range also utilise Continuum cone material. This is the cleanest and most transparent mid-range cone material Bowers & Wilkins have ever used and is designed for optimised and controlled flexibility. This means that there are no sudden changes from pistonic to break-up mode behaviours.
