Pure and transparent sound with good depth
In continuation of the update of the audio park, the queue reached the acoustics. My choice has stopped at B∓ W 704 S2. At the previous stage, I replaced the amplifier with the Maratz PM8006 and the CD player on the Maratz ND8006. From my point of view, all components ideally approached each other. The sound is clear transparent with good depth.
What needs to be taken into account when choosing acoustics b & amp; W 704 S2, and what was a surprise to me. The manual states that when choosing a place for installing the columns, it is necessary to provide installation "at least 0.5 meters from the rear and side walls." The fact is that on the back of the speakers there is a port of the phase intelligence. By bringing the column to the back wall, you increase the level of bass, and a sufficient distance behind the speakers creates a feeling of depth. I installed columns in the room of about 35 square meters. It was not difficult to move them forward and put them forward. The compromise between the bass level and the depth of sound was found at a distance of about 42 cm from the wall.
By the way, in extreme cases, if you want to reduce the level of bass without pushing the speakers from the wall, you can configure the sound of the speakers at low frequencies using special foam plows. These plugs are included. The plug consists of 2 parts so that you can choose the degree of damping
