Perfect-Surface Copper+, or PSC+, has a surprisingly smooth and pure surface. Proprietary metal treatment technology protects the conductor surface at every stage of wire drawing and fabrication. When very pure copper with low oxide content is kept as malleable, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes an extraordinarily low distortion PSC+ conductor. The PSC+ is made by applying the same exceptional technology to ultra-pure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less distracting. For over 30 years, AudioQuest has pioneered the use of premium metals, but we were surprised ourselves at the huge leap in performance made possible by Perfect Surface technology. PSC+ simply outperforms any cuprous metal we have had in the past, regardless of price. The Yosemite uses solid core conductors exclusively. Electrical and magnetic interactions between the strands of a typical cable are the main source of distortion, often producing a somewhat harsh and muddy sound. Solid-core drivers play a vital role in achieving Yosemite's very clean sound.

FEP air tube insulation

(FEP is a fluoropolymer): Any solid material in contact with a conductor contributes to forming an imperfect circuit. Cable sheath and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and later released as distortion. All Yosemite cable conductors feature air tube insulation because air absorbs almost no energy and FEP is the best extrudable solid dielectric and absorbs less energy than other materials. With the FEP air tubes used in Yosemite cable, there is almost nothing but air around the solid PSC+ conductors.
